James Coats – Art and Visual Design
A world traveler during his Air Force career, James studied Illustration and Fine Art at Art Center College of Design and at the Academy of Art. He finds inspiration from studying great Ohio cartoonists like Milton Caniff, Paul Pope, Bill Watterson and Jeff Smith, and with his own art he strives to emulate the fun and excitement that these Midwest masters create in their works. James loves working with traditional tools and materials, and does all his drawing and inking by hand. Dino Beasts is his first long-form comic.
